Lasher Keen means a Spirit in Mourning. For the Raven, BlueBird, & Owl have died. They have been reborn as makers of music. Savage Strings, Beautiful Bells, Devilish Drums, & Venomous Voices Make up the musical landscape that Lasher Keen invite their listeners to embark upon. Lasher Keen has been described as the thundering heartbeat of a bird within a Beast, powerfully strong, yet capable of delicate composition.
The Origins of Lasher Keen began in Late 2006. After recording the self tilted LP in San Francisco, Dylan Sheets moved back to the Small mining town of Nevada City California.
Working with Various musicians & struggling to formulate a band made up of non standard instrumentation, it was here that Dylan Met BlueBird & Sage Arias who would prove to be versatile in musicianship & Creative output. The final line up was complete. The Group worked over the next 2 years playing up & down the west coast & traveling abroad to France, Germany, & Austria where a string of performances earned them new fans & interest from an Austrian label called Steinklang industries. Upon returning to the states work immediately continued on the then already underway new album. “Wither” was released On the winter Solstice of 2009. Lasher Keen continue to develop their unique musical movement of sonic experimentation & live theatrical stage shows.

The Raven, A scavenger feeding off of music from the Underworld Carcasses. Come Down, Follow the Arrow. Aided by Vocal Chords, Guitar Strings, Accordion Buttons, Horn Bellows, Flute Whistles & the dissonance of metal clangs & Crashes, he hunts down the lost & forgotten music.
BlueBird~
Born of Fire & Earth, & is a Daughter of Air. She learned to fly at a young age & prefers to build her nests out of Strings, Skin, Wood & Magic. She finds Beauty in the Darkest nights & the Dazzling Brilliance of the Sun. She has given birth to two Daughters, one of Fire & one of Earth, thus completing the Circle. Aided by the Irish Bodhran, Vocals, Cello, Perrcussion, Drums & Whistles.
Sage Arias~
On a Cool Spring morn, years past, in the sign of fire, the spirit of an Owl alighted upon the lone limb of an oak within the breast of a newborn child. Within the child, the owls love of song & sound came to dwell. The Owl sang to the young boy songs of the forest & the tunes of the Earth. Their spirits became one as the boy became a man. A man who loves music from times long past but not forgotten. Within a body reborn, the Owl sings anew. Aided by Bass, Banjo, Bouzouki, Glockenspiel, Drums & whistles.
